“Don’t Wake Me Up” was originally supposed to make the MDNA album by Madonna but according to William Orbit, the album was rushed and a lot of the best material never made it. Chris Brown may not seem like the most likely candidate to take on a leftover Madonna track but it works people.

“Don’t Wake Me Up”  is as beautifully stunning as it is infectious, it’s a smash from the first listen! I assume the William Orbit mix would have been the MDNA version, perhaps it’s “Miles Away” similarities prevented an MDNA appearance? Who knows, but either way it’s a great track and I have to say the William Orbit mix is the standout! I’m actually really mad Madonna didn’t put this on MDNA, it would have been amazing!
