It’s no surprise that “Payphone” is going to be one of the 2012 summer anthems, you can’t deny the melodies on the record, they’re absolutely stunning! From first listen of the track I was already anticipating what remixers would do to the gorgeous hooks and now we have 3 new mixes for our ears to feast on! I posted an official club mix by Thomas Penton and Barry Huffine last week (click here for that) but I knew the song could be taken to a whole different level and it has.
First up, Liam Keegan has released a pretty quality bootleg of the track that’s definitely worth a listen. Keegan gives the chorus a great dance makeover, digging it for sure but it’s not the glorious reworking I was looking for… The big ones here are 2 new official mixes from Sound Of Arrows and Ashworth. I’m dying people, they’re simply beautiful.
Ashworth gives us a sweeping production of electronic dance fluff goodness, a charming mix that will have you hitting repeat, you will love it! Now if you’re not familiar with the dreamy electro sounds of Sound Of Arrows, get familiar now cause they’re take on the track is absolutely gorgeous. Even they’re usage of Wiz Khalifa is completely tolerable, love it!
