Cheryl Cole is prepared to release her solo sophomore release Messy Little Raindrops on Monday November 1st in the UK and I don’t know about you but I have been looking forward to this album for quite some time.

Last week I shared 1 minutes clips of every track from the album and I had to say I was underwhelmed with the samples. Now that I have heard the whole album I think it’s safe to say Messy Little Raindrops as a whole feels extremely similar to 3 Words and to no surprise it’s slightly more personal this time around.

Promise This – A twinkling and playful album opener, one of the stronger tracks.

Yeah Yeah Feat. Travie McCoy – Classic dance with a 90’s vibe and a modern twist. Worth a listen or three but nothing spectacular.

Live Tonight – So torn with this one, I like it and I don’t. A POP production that would have Paris Hilton drooling for it but something about it falls flat.

The Flood – Perfection. The albums best song!

Amnesia – I find this song does nothing for me.

Everyone Feat. Dizzee Rascal – The melody is entrancing enough to capture your attention and lasts long enough to get you through the whole song. An interesting and inspiring piece.

Raindrops – A good song and I like it for what it is, not single material but a beautiful track none the less.

Hummingbird – The lyrics to the chorus are super cheese but the production value is great yet no hit single here either.

Better To Lie Feat. August Rigo – Generic POP diva/male vocalist collaboration that makes for decent filler material that WILL grow on you.

Let’s Get Down – It’s a funk electro-dance number that makes for acceptable party music and possible single material.

Happy Tears – I hear the echoes of  what a Timbaland/Coldplay collabo may sound like on this production that is likely to be the workings of Mr. Ryan Tedder. Decent song.

Waiting – Happy she was able to sample Vanessa Carlton and execute it properly without overdoing it. This is one of my favorite tracks on the album. This one better be a single!

In the end, like 3 Words, Messy Little Raindrops has the same watered down Will.I.Am electro-dance tone for most of the album. Is it a bad album? No. It just has more filler material than single worthy tracks (like 3 Words). A shame most songs on the album didn’t follow suit with “The Flood” in it’s ridiculously addicting melody and unforgettable hook and chorus! Messy Little Raindrops gets a B- for it’s charming numbers, mediocre filler material, and the true gem “The Flood”.

Cheryl killed it LIVE with her first performance in support of the new album! Judging from the clip I would say her career is only on the rise, she certainly has no stop in sight. Watch above.
