Here’s the winning PROMO single from Pepsi and Katy Perry, the trap-flavored POP jawbreaker “Dark Horse” has a moment right before the trap kicks in but for the most part, it’s nothing to get too excited over.

I will say that it gets better the second time around but still doesn’t feel strong enough to serve as an album single so thankfully, that’s not the case here (it’s an iTunes promo single release, not an official Prism single) and it hopefully won’t be in the near future. I’m obsessed with the production and vocal work, Dr. Luke and company did a brilliant job with “Dark Horse”. I could certainly use more Katy and less Juicy J on the track if I had it my way.
