Giorgia Moroder, the 74 year-old legendary disco producer who helped launch the genre in the late 70’s, returns in 2015 with his first new studio album in 30 years, the lead single “74 Is The New 24” from the untitled album (which is scheduled to drop in the Spring of 2015) was released today.
Big news, right? Well, yes, it’s grand news considering we’re talking about the man who is often credited for pioneering electronic dance music, but the real IMPORTANT news is that Moroder has enlisted the help of Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Sia, and Charli XCX to bring disco back:
@britneyspears@Sia@kylieminogue@charli_xcx@iamfoxes… Ladies are you ready to bring back #disco? #74isthenew24

What does this all mean though? Are all ladies set to appear on one single track? After all, Matthew Koma, Mikky Ekko and Foxes are also set to appear on the upcoming project. But Kylie’s recent Tweet may lead us to believe that this very well could be, one massive super-collaboration, like the black hole of collaborations, it’s so big it might just collapse on itself:
Wow, dreams come true! So thrilled & honored to be part of the new @giorgiomoroder album w @sia, @BritneySpears, @charli_xcx. #74isthenew24
— kylie minogue (@kylieminogue) November 18, 2014
Whatever’s happening, it’s major, it’s a big fucking deal and it’s really important! Prepare for the return of disco, it’s coming… bitch.
