Rita Ora, Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha & Cardi B Join Forces On Anthemic ‘Girls’

Hold onto your wigs because this year’s summer bop has just dropped! Rita Ora’s new single is called “Girls” and features three of POP music’s current biggest and brightest players including Charli XCX, Cardi B, and Bebe Rexha.

With lyrics like “Sometimes I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls / Red wine, I just wanna kiss girls, girls girls,” the song is already being called a bisexual anthem – a la Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” or Demi Lovato’s “Cool For The Summer.”

“It really represents freedom and the chance to be what you want to be — and there being no judgment and just living your life as you want to live it,” said Ora to People Magazine. “That’s what this song represents to me every time I hear it.” It’s always refreshing to hear mainstream divas showcase diversity and acceptance for all, even if it’s through a bubbly bop.

Though the opening and production sounds like a Charli song, the song was originally written by Ora back in 2015 where she sang an earlier version on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend with singer Raye and Charli singing what is now Rexha’s verse. Watch the clip below to hear the original version. .
