Kelly Clarkson’s performance of her 2015 single “Piece By Piece” on American Idol brought down the house, not because of her incredible pipes, but because Clarkson poured her whole heart out onto that stage. A stage that skyrocketed her into fame, a stage that helped write the fairytale ending to Clarkson’s difficult journey. Not a single dry eye in the crowd, this is one of the most emotional performances we’ve ever seen on broadcast television.

Kelly Clarkson, I’m happy that “Piece By Piece” dethroned Rihanna’s “Work” from the iTunes Top 100, even if its only temporary. You’ve breathed new life into a very important song and maybe it will finally get the attention it deserves, I know I’ve come around to it since watching last night.
