Before we go bashing Girl Aloud member Nadine Coyle, we think she deserves a fair shot! Rumor has it she signed a deal with Tesco(overseas supermarket chain) for her upcoming album which will allow her to take COMPLETE creative control of her album(singles, what makes the final cut, collaborators, EVERYTHING) and in return Tesco will be the EXCLUSIVE carrier of the album, meaning you won’t be getting it anywhere but at Tesco. Sure it sounds like a flop, come on, a supermarket chain being the exclusive retail seller?? Then again, Wal-Mart gets plenty of exclusive deals, and they even open at number one and knock POP Queens to #2, Blackout is some of her BEST WORK, it should of hit the top spot damn-it!
Anyway, all things Britney aside, this could prove to be a very smart move on Coyles part, the industry is changing drastically, artists are looking for new ways to distribute their material constantly – i.e. Radiohead letting you pay what you want – if she plays her cards right, her future could be just as bright as fellow Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole! We will just have to wait and let the music do the talking for her, the debut release is scheduled to drop this November. Coyle has spent the better part of the past two years pouring her heart and soul into the new album in LA, working with Guy Chambers and William Orbit to name a couple producers. Let’s hope she gets it right and has some hot POP for us!
