Last week I had the chance to catch one of my favorite new acts of 2012 at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. They go by the name of  Frank + Derol and they’ve hypnotized me with their brilliant indie-POP sound, one listen to their summer buzz single “Barely Love You Too” and I was sold. (Listen and download “Barely Love You Too” HERE.) These girls are crafting some seriously stunning POP, their melodies are mighty infectious and their lyrics are powerfully impacting, a winning combination that won’t escape the brain for days.

I arrived at the venue right as the girls began their set and was determined to capture my favorite tune “Let It Go”, a song that defines the term “earworm”. The song begins and immediately you’re struck with the award winning lyrics “once we say forever that’s the first lie we tell each other”, if that’s not worthy of an award then I don’t know what is.
