What happens when Arcade Fire and Lady Gaga collide in a musical vortex? Not quite sure but I have a feeling something similar to The Irrepressibles would beat at the heart of the end fusion. Though I could hardly compare them to ANY musical act out today as once you hear what The Irrepressibles have to offer you will never confuse them with anyone or anything else for as long as you live.
Led by artist, singer, composer Jamie McDermott, The Irrepressibles are a 10 piece performance orchestra creating music for the heavens while gracing us with their presence here on Earth. Every aspect from performance and image to musical composition is delicately crafted to mold and shape a distinct experience that digs into our senses and lights an emotional journey through our souls. If you don’t feel anything listening to “In This Shirt”… check your pulse. Nah, I don’t even want to get all pretentious on you but this is honestly amazing!
“In This Shirt” takes epic to new heights, painting a canvas of lost love into a beautiful orchestrated piece of art for us to cherish forever. There’s something too real in the lyrics “I am lost/in our rainbow/now our rainbow has gone”, something so simple yet so effective!
The album Mirror Mirror will see an American release on August 9th via Major Record Label with a special edition dropping on October 25th which is set to include remixes of “In This Shirt” by Zero 7, Hercules & Love Affair (listen below), and the amazing Röyksopp!
Watch the video for “In This Shirt” below which is pretty much a montage of amazingness from their live performances and listen to the less than thrilling take on the track by Hercules & Love Affair via SoundCloud.
I should also point you into the direction of this fan made video HERE. A friend of mine sent it to me in January and I had been meaning to share it. In other words, this post is months overdue!
