We just came across a new OBSESSION, this is a great POP track from new artist Matisse! Check out what she has to say about herself below…
•••About Matisse•••
Hey Everybody, I am Matisse. My real name is actually Brit and I was once in a group with my twin sister Alex called “brit and alex” – (It took a lot of time thinking that name up haha). Anyway, several months ago Alex deserted me to go back to school. I had an identity crisis. I became Matisse I decided to name myself after one of my favorite painters who struggled artistically and refused to bend to conventional rules. Believe me, I can relate to that! I’m 23 now and I’ve been writing, recording and performing with some AMAZING people!
Although we grew up mostly in Fairfield County, CT and sang with our father’s band, Alex and I really started to seriously write and record while we were in high school in London, England. After high school, we moved to Atlanta for a few years to be in the creative center of the music business. From ATL we moved to LA and signed to Interscope Records. We had a single “Let it Go” on the Step Up 2 soundtrack and performed all over the UK. And through it all, we were lucky enough to work with the most incredible producers – Dallas Austin (Pink, Madonna, TLC), Tricky Stewart (Beyonce,Rihanna, Britney Spears),The Dream (Rihanna, Beyonce,Mariah Carey), Ne*Yo (Mary J. Blige, Rihanna) and Stargate (Beyonce, Shakira).
Now I find myself a solo artist. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that all the ups and downs in this business (including my recent abandonment just helps to improve my vision. I have more clarity now than ever. I am now just doing me…which can be confusing at times since there are many “me’s” haha…there’s the me that is quintessential Audrey Hepburn and the me that’s more Marilyn; the me that reads Anna Karenina and the me that devours the Star and Perez; there’s the me that’s fearless and the me that’s a hypochondriac; there’s the me that travels the world and the me that doesn’t have a driver’s license!!!! The list goes on. I embrace all my different sides in my music. I’m really proud of it and I really hope you guys like it too! Thanks so much for coming to my page. XX
This is definitely our surprise find of the day!
NOTEWORTHY: Apparently Kevin Rudolf(Let It Rock) wrote the song awhile back for Lindsay Lohan!
