Have we all settled down yet? This surprise Beyoncé album won the internet for at least 2 days (she surpassed Sharknado as most tweeted topic in less than 12 hours) and even helped spawn the best phrase of 2013 with “fuck your cupcakes”, everything is Beyoncé now, ev-er-y-thing.

Needless to say, the surprise album drop is easily the most brilliant marketing plan of 2013 or of all time to be honest. Beyoncé is set to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with potential sales reaching over 600,000. I mean, 14 songs and 17 videos, how can you resist it? It’s pure genius.

My favorite track from the album has to be the Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic frontman) penned “XO”, it’s like he took the best bit of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” and smashed it with a OneRepublic chorus and put Bey on it, it’s undeniable. Perhaps that’s why the song is being rushed to Top 40 radio as lead single after initially announcing “Blow” as the lead single this past Friday.
