If I had to choose one song to represent why I love POP music so much, I believe this Girls Aloud cover of “The Loving Kind” by Absent Elk would be it.
Most POP fans already adore the original version and know just how classic of a tune it is, but Australian based band Absent Elk put a spin on the tune that highlights the songs brilliance in a way that even non-POP fans should be able to appreciate.
When I listen to a great POP song, I hear everything that Absent Elk has done with “The Loving Kind”. Under all the sugar coating goodness there are big glorious melodies, undeniable hooks and a thousand ways to interpret them.
