A batch of offical mixes for the latest Britney single “I Wanna Go” have been released and at first listen you may be just as disappointed as I was.

I’m a lover of remixes and I expect a DJ/producer to take a track and turn it out and rip it up so my initial feelings on these mixes were a bit underwhelming. They are all fairly heavy in sound and lack the instantaneous lovability the original carries but after thorough listening I have come to appreciate these mixes.

All unfamiliar names when it comes to this set of mixes. Gareth Emery, Pete Phantom, Vada, and Moguai take “I Wanna Go” and give it some heavy industrialized beats and vibes for the underground dance clubs, a bit too grimy for the circuit night club in my opinion but that doesn’t mean they are terrible. Listen to them twice if you don’t like on first listen, they are growers!

Truly, I just feel like these are the “straight” remixes for this song, bring on the “gay” mixes now please! I hope Team Britney has sent the record for mixing by the likes of Digital Dog, Bimbo Jones, Buzz Junkies, or Wideboys!
